Local sports schedule for upcoming week

Local sports back in action after winter break

After some rest, local sports teams are looking to start the new year on the right track. High school basketball, wrestling and ice hockey teams will travel this week, while Fort Lewis College will head to Ignacio to play a Native American heritage game. Here are all the local sports games this upcoming week:

Fort Lewis College basketball:

FLC women’s basketball vs. Navajo Technical University on Saturday at 5:30 p.m.

Records: The FLC women hope to break a four-game losing streak as they head into the Sun Ute Community Center to face Navajo Tech. FLC sits at 3-8 overall and 1-3 in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play. The Fort Lewis women have only played one neutral-site game this season, a 48-75 loss to Colorado Mesa University at the Behnken Fieldhouse in Salt Lake City. FLC men’s basketball vs. Navajo Technical University on Saturday at 7:30 p.m.

Records: Fort Lewis is 8-5 overall and 2-2 in conference play. FLC brings a three-game winning streak into the neutral-site matchup against Navajo Tech. The FLC men are 2-2 in neutral-site games this season. The game will be played at the Sun Ute Community Center in Ignacio and is a Native American heritage game.
