Old Fort Farmer in Training program application now available

The Farmer-In-Training Program 2023 is now accepting applications.

The Farmer-In-Training will run from May 16 to Oct. 12. A living stipend of up to $2,500 is available for Native American farmers and farmers from other communities underrepresented in farming. The course cost is $2,250. There are full and partial scholarships available.

Farmers-in-training gain hands-on experience growing vegetables at high elevation. The program consists of morning field work, afternoon classes and field trips.
